a bedtime story that left me awake all night

There was once a guy, who was waiting for his girl at the park. It was a fine day and he was sitting alone on a bench, admiring the beautiful sky, listening to the birds chirping merrily, and inhaling the tingling scent of the freshly-cut grass. Out of a sudden, a big, old man came and sat beside him. He broke the silence and greeted the guy. Then, it's all silent again. "I know you are waiting for a girl, she lives in the apartment six blocks down the street, 10th floor. Ouh she's a sweet young girl", the old man took off his hat and stroke a conversation. The guy was shocked to hear what he said and stood up. "How do you know? Who are you? What do you want?", the guy was terrified. "Calm down, young man. I won't hurt her, in fact, I want to tell you a very important thing you might really want to know", the old man said. The guy sat down on the bench again, a little bit further apart from the old man. "The girl you are waiting for, the girl you love, is going to die in two days, a bus will run over her when she's trying to cross the street on her way to class", the old man continued. The guy lost his temper and shouted at the old man, "What do you want from me, you psychotic freak!"
"Will you give away three things in your life, to save her?", the old man continued.
"You are crazy, you are crazy", the guy murmured.
"Just three things in your life and she will stay alive, I am not trying to fool you, young man, trust me", he said.
"What do you want? Please don't hurt her. Tell me, what do you want?" the guy asked with his hands shaking.
"Just three things; your sight, your sense of smell, and your hearing. Are you willing to lose those three and save the girl you love, young man?" asked the old man.
"You are crazy. You're just out of your mind. There's no way I can do that, there's no way you can take that from me, and how can she still love a guy who's blind, deaf, and mute?! You're crazy", the guy said.
"Well then, I better not waste my time here. I've got to see many other people who really think I'm useful", the old man put on his hat and walked away.

The guy sat there, still so terrified. The girl did not come to meet him. He went home a few hours later with disappointment. He tried to call her but no answer. Two days later, he received a letter from the girl.
In the letter she wrote,
"Im sorry I did not answer your calls and I did not come to meet you the other day. That day, I was getting ready to meet you at the park and an old man came to me and said that you're going to die in two days and he told me that I can save you if I give him just one thing; my life. I said ok. Maybe Im no longer here when you read this, but Im happy that you're still alive and I want you to be happy, and I love you."

Here's a story my friend told me last night. She managed to keep me thinking about it all night. Sometimes girls are ridiculous, and stupid, but as I've always said, love may be our greatest strength, but at the same time, it's also our greatest weakness. Sometimes guys just don't get it. Well, let's not take everyone in general into picture, I'll just apply this to myself, my case. Sometimes, I know he thinks it's hard for him to blablabla, but he just doesn't know how much harder it is for me, but I am willing to hold on, I am willing to let myself go through the pain, but he just don't seem to realize that it is not easy for me, and yes, I can hold on, but I can't hang on there forever, one day, I might just lose grip and fall, but he just forgot to think about that part. I was not worried about us. I know what Im doing, for us, although no one else will ever get the whole idea of it. I was actually worried about my friend, who happens to be, the person who told me this story. I couldn't sleep all night thinking about her, and this morning, I wondered why was I worried so much about someone else when I can't even advise myself? It's not like I have all the experiences. This friend of mine does not know what she really wants. She broke up with her guy and the next day, she was crying and saying that she cant live without him. And when she called him to make it up again, after she hung up, she'll say that she can't live with him, she doesnt want to see him anymore, and blablabla the drama goes on. I've tried my best to give her a piece of my mind, she seemed to get it, but the next morning, she will, somehow, forget everything i said and im worried that she keep going back to what she left and did not want anymore, just because she's used to it. I know it's not easy, but that's why Im worried. Has she made the right thing or was it just me who made her think what she was thinking?

Im worried and hungry.
and Im sick and tired.
I just want to go home.
